People should always be able to search by keyword rather than navigate menus.
Especially if we (who make human-computer interfaces) do not want people to turn to life-destroying chatbot interfaces.

oh! now here is karma in action: that vanished cursor on my rescued iMac 11,2 using #Debian #gnome and #Firefox esr, dig this, ONLY happens when I load my mstdn.ca home page! And it totally kills the mouse cursor, the only cure I have found is not just log out, but a full reboot!

#Debian13 loaded #Gnome into the #iMac just fine using the SD reader, set it up, loaded kdenlive etc to later test, created my users, but now a new problem I've not encountered before:
the mouse cursor spontaneously vanishes. I still have mouse control, things highlight on hover, but the pointer icon disappears. Switching windows, switching to tty1 and back, not even changing users! On reboot, not touching physical wires, the mouse has a cursor again.🤔

I wll say, even without a visible mouse pointer, #linuxmintcinnamon is a very smooth experience on the #iMac11 and has a system app that reads my BIOS so while I can't find the boot hotkey, I can at least see I'd have no need to change it!
But this is #Xorg. As in the #XWindows GUI I've using for almost 40 years, and I know we had, once upon a time, all sorts of cute pointer mods, so if #Gnome doesn't, there must be an old-school way of simply restoring that icon.
Last time wasn't from Firefox, I'd been using the Terminal app and lost the visible pointer on exit.
