Child Care Subsidy has the 3yo attending primary school??? (different rate) - now fixed
Emailing CYF multiple times to keep them updated as required

I'm a bit groggy this morning. The wee one had a rough night. He woke with a nightmare (I think) around 12:40am but he also had a temp. He was very loving and told me several times that he was happy I was there in his room with him. He's still asleep but I think I was lucky to get two hours.

We had a big day at the Adventure Playground today. The wee one ran around and played with his girl cousins on all the equipment. Then we all came back home for more fun and refreshments.
This is about 15 minutes after the girls left. He fell fast asleep while on floor playing with his cars.

It's been a day... So I'm now sitting outside with a cuppa, enjoying the last of the sunshine in the backyard. Husband is currently picking up the wee one from childcare, so I am just sitting here, listening to the birdsong.

Took my son to lunch today for his birthday. Just the two of us. It's kind of a fraught situation considering the circumstances. We are caring for the wee one in our home while he and his ex-partner are currently only allowed supervised contact visits.

We're up to the stage in the Kinship Carers assessments where we have to ask 4 of our friends to give us references (2 each) when CYF calls them. That's my task for this afternoon.
It's a difficult choice because:
1. No one I know likes to answer unknown numbers.
2. My closest friends are also friends with husband but he has no others.
3. I hate asking.

It's Sunday. I'm still in bed. The rule is I can sleep in 'til 9am on Sundays. I don't actually do that, but I do hide in my bed reading until then. Quiet bliss.

I've been out on a spending spree today. With the hot weather here (although not tomorrow in Canberra), I've been buying up big in Kmart. Summer clothes for the wee one. 5 x shorts, 5 x T-shirts, 10 pairs of socks, 3 pairs of shoes, and 2 hats. He's grown so much that he needs bigger (and more weather appropriate) clothing. Should see him through for a bit.
