If I were a billionaire, my hobby project would be to produce and sell a TV that's actually just a 75" HDMI monitor, that does literally nothing other than switch between the HDMI inputs.
No ads, no internet connectivity, no "smart" features, just the best big screen to hook your stuff into.

A few days ago sound just no longer came out of our soundbar with the Apple TV.
Debugged it, ruling out stuff by using different cables and even different Apple TV, no dice.
It turns out the HDMI1 port on the soundbar is defective, but only for sound, not for the image. 🥴

Having an HDMI capture card is really nice for working with a #raspberrypi
No need to play around with an additional screen or switch inputs.
Just displaying the output in your video player of choice.
Next thing would be a good way to send keyboard inputs.

The side HDMI on my old plasma TV broke. After that it wont turn on. Not by the button or the remote. The TV situation is Black Friday solved (and I had decided to not buy anything this year), but it annoys me that I can't figure out why it's not turning on.
The sode port is not really needed, so I removed it completely. Can't find any physical damage, and it seems like everything has the correct voltages. Schematics would have been really useful, but I haven't found a…

I got a 9" LCD panel and HDMI board from AliExpress to put in the Mac SE/30 case. The other screen I have is a 1/4" too wide so I can't close the case up. It just arrived and I unboxed it. First, it smells. Second, it has a mini HDMI plug, and I don't have an adapter. Second problem easily fixed, part will be here tomorrow. But why does it smell like chemicals? Hopefully it airs out over the next few hours or something.

Als Technik Nerd konnte ich dem Angebot für einen 21% reduzierten Full Array LED Fernseher von Sony einfach nicht widerstehen!
Am Black Friday gibt es die besten Rabatte auf die LED Fernseher. Dadurch würde ein OLED oder MicroLED dann doppelt so viel kosten, und das finde ich nicht gerechtfertigt.
Die LED XR Fernseher von Sony ja auch alles, was man sich wünschen kann.
Habt ihr euch auch schon für einen OLED Fernseher entschieden oder seid ihr wie ich noch bei LED?
