We study the Gibbs equilibrium of a classical 2D Coulomb gas in the determinantal case = 2. The external potential is the sum of a quadratic term and the potential generated by individual charges pinned in several extended groups. We present the discovery and characterisation of two Ly$α$ nebulae (LANs), RO-1001-Sat and RO-0959-Sat, as satellite structures of two giant LANs at $z=2.920$ and 3.092. They are found neighbouring two out of four known giant LANs at $z\sim3$ in our MUSE follow-up observations, reinforcing the idea that Ly$α$ emission can be used to trace massive dark matter halos at high-$z$. Photon rings and shadows of Kerr black holes immersed in a swirling universe
We discuss photon rings around as well as shadows of Kerr black holes immersed in a swirling spacetime. We find that the spin-spin interaction between the angular momentum of the black hole and the swirling of the background leads to new interesting effects as it breaks the symmetry between the upper and lower hemispheres.
