De Nederlandse was tijdens haar werk in Johannesburg in contact gekomen met een vrouw die ziek was geworden aan boord van het cruiseschip Hondius.

Three passengers have died and others are ill after a suspected hantavirus outbreak on the MV Hondius cruise ship in the Atlantic,
prompting a WHO alert.
