I would like to listen to the clean broadcast play-by-play announcer audio with noise-cancelling headphones at a hockey game, rather than the often-incomprehensible booming echo over the arena's PA system mixed with screaming people.
That sounds a lot like an assistive technology.
Possibly once existing as a tiny AM radio station, BYOR.
Does it exist today?

As a former netminder, I love these rare backup #Goalie stories, and even rarer cases when they actually get called into action. I could dream of sitting in the stands of Maple Leaf Gardens in the mid 80s. Two freak injuries to the home team goalies prompts an announcement, "Is there a goalie in the house?" I slowly stand up and yell, "I'll do it."
I then proceed to shut out the Oilers for the rest of the game, including 3 breakaways by Gretzky. He shakes his head slowly after every unsuccessful attempt.

I don't post much about #Hockey as I've fallen out of love for the game in recent years. But in my youth, I was a goalie, and one of my early sports heroes was Glenn Hall. On this day in 1962, Hall set a record that will never be broken when he played in his 502nd consecutive NHL regular-season game and 552 straight, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This was an era when goalies didn't wear masks or helmets and were routinely stitched up after being cut so they could return to the net. I didn't become a fan until after his streak ended, but his dominance over the next few years made an impression on me and my style of goaltending. He was the pioneer of the butterfly style, which at the time enraged NHL coaches and confounded scorers. His goaltending for St. Louis in the Stanley Cup series of 1968 was some of the best I've ever seen.
