It might not seem like a huge thing, but it's time to fix the power distribution for my Raspberry Pi 4B servers. This should do a perfect job of distributing the 24V going to each one pretty well, and 1A fuses should work out perfectly for keeping the amount of fire to a minimum. #homelab #raspberryPi

A power distribution terminal block. The left side has two positive and two negative inputs labelled DC INPUT which are screw terminals. On the bottom are some plugin screw terminals. There are 8 sets of dual terminal plugs labelled + and -. Above each dual terminal plug is an ATC-style automotive fuse. On the edges of the block are two places to mount the block to a board.

So any of you over-the-top #homelab people that ended up in colo space have a rackmate?
Do you call them your rackmate?
Do I get credit for coining the term #rackmate?

Uptime is back at 100%, all the services are up...too bad that's gonna change today once the LSI HBA comes in...MUHAHAHA. Also happy to see the certificate renewal setup is working perfectly. #homelab

Looking to extend my raspberry pi kubernetes cluster into storage…
Does anyone have #homelab performance results for a raspberry pi ceph cluster? Considering making the leap! Will three pi5 nodes be sufficient for managers monitors and osds for a basic HA cluster or do I need more?

I need some help solving this problem:
2 raspberry pis, 1 hosting home assistant the other with pi-hole and storage stuff. I need a way to connect storage to home assistant media and be able to add to the storage from random devices.
Network drivers are being annoying rn and not working but one is so as long as the method doesn't need a dedicated NIC then should work.

I have now fully set up ipv4/ipv6 dualstack for my devices, my vps servers, and for my k8s cluster (using "public" ipv6 ranges).
Only postfix (in k8s) is currently configured to use just ipv4, since mail servers rather reject mails from ip without PTR DNS record.

Hrmm, just finished setting up Immich on the homelab and it is pretty damned impressive so far. Got it saving the libraries to NFS, certs all setup, and up uploading all the photos. The iOS app is pretty solid as well. No issues so far, but we'll see how this goes. Also, that poor, poor VM... #homelab

A screenshot of the main Immich page showing a very, very Google Photos-like webpage. The top row shows the "N years since" roll, and below that is the photos organized by date. The left-hand pane shows various options like Explore, Map, Sharing...

It's nice having the blog back up and running again. I ran into an issue running Gitea calling webhooks because it didn't trust my sketchy certificate authority. Not the most difficult solution, but having the blog back online means that I can fix it, then document it...and hopefully help someone out. #homelab

So, the new switch came in and it's adorable. Gonna run a couple of phones off of it for the comp, but I still need the 48V PSU brick to come in. Will say that the Mikrotik CRS112-8P-4S-IN is very, very light though. #homelab

A picture of the Mikrotik CRS-112-8P-4S-IN with four Gigabit copper SFPs in front of it. There are 8 standard copper ports on the switch, and 4 SFP ports on it. Also on the front is a console port. Behind the switch is the standard power adapter.

Finally have the last three Raspberry Pi's installed and running. The primary and secondary servers took no time to get back online, and I basically just turned off the old VPN server and rebuilt it as it's a fairly simple process. Also, since the Pi's are using NVMe drives it makes things more than a bit snappy. #homelab

The three Raspberry Pis installed on the right-hand side of a piece of acrylic. Each is labelled (DNS1, DNS2, and TAILSCALE), all are connected to the breakout power board, each has a power hat and an NVMe hat, and all have cooling fans spinning without issue. All of the Pis are powered via a 24V DC PSU by MeanWell.

Every now and then I find myself drooling over the Fluke LinkIQ (notably when someone asks if I can trace some lines), but PHEW, that $3k price tag! Just can't justify more than my first car cost for a single tool. (and second car, and third car...... wow, seems I almost have always driven old worn down beaters)
Anyone happen to be getting rid of a second-hand unit for cheap by any chance? :P
