👋 Hello! I’m Łukasz. Thirty-something, living in Warsaw, Poland. On fedi since 2021 or so. Right now, I'm merging my two accounts into one and giving this profile a fresh new start.
I live a few parallel lives.
Most of the time I’m a web developer. I work with TypeScript, React and all that jazz. But I still enjoy static site generators and good ol’ HTML/CSS.
In another life, I’m a documentary photographer and photojournalist. I’m interested in activism, art and culture, politics, and pretty much anything interesting happening on city streets. A big part of my photography journey involves documenting protests and demonstrations in Poland, especially those related to human rights and social issues. I’m also drawn to street art, particularly when it carries strong messages.
I occasionally blog and translate. Many years ago I wrote two books about WordPress. However, these days I’m more likely to go outside and touch grass than spend even more time in front of a screen.
Outside of that, expect me to post about mental health and politics. I promise to use CWs when appropriate.
I post in both English and Polish, depending on the topic.

There's some time management guy on LinkedIn posting that, on average, we get 4,000 weeks on this planet. He lists a number of activities and how many weeks that represents, including 34 weeks on the toilet and 666 weeks if you spend 4 hours a day doom scrolling.
There are some calculation issues here. I didn't doom scroll for the 1st 30 years of my life because the internet didn't exist, and now I doom scroll on the toilet to increase my #Productivity. So I'm outliving most of you who are reading this.

Przez większość czasu buduję rzeczy w internetach, głównie z użyciem TypeScriptu, Reacta i całej reszty tego jazzu. Ciągle jednak lubię generatory stron statycznych i stary dobry HTML/CSS.
W innym życiu jestem fotografem-dokumentalistą i fotoreporterem. Interesuje mnie aktywizm, sztuka, kultura, polityka oraz wszystko, co jest ciekawe, a dzieje się na ulicach miast. Dużo uwagi poświęcam protestom i demonstracjom w Polsce, zwłaszcza dotyczącym praw człowieka i kwestii społecznych. Interesuje mnie też sztuka uliczna, zwłaszcza taka, która niesie ze sobą mocne komunikaty.
Zdarza mi się blogować i tłumaczyć teksty. Wiele lat temu napisałem dwie książki o WordPressie. Obecnie jednak wolę gdzieś wyjść niż spędzać jeszcze więcej czasu przed ekranem.
Okazjonalnie zdarza mi się postować o zdrowiu psychicznym i polityce. Staram się używać CW kiedy to możliwe.
Postuję po polsku i angielsku w zależności od tematu.

#NIST have issued updated #password guidelines for businesses. Interestingly they now say that requiring special characters is no longer a recommendation, but longer passwords / passphrases (using spaces) is a better idea.
I say "interesting" because that's something I've been doing for many years, long before I discovered password managers to remember things for me.

So, I was looking for a way for Android phones and iPhones to collaborate on a photo album. I use Google Photos on my Android phone, but this forces my iPhone friends to upload all their contacts to Google Photos which is a little icky. I found cluster.co which allows us to add photos to a shared album. Free to a point. What do you use?

I ran Snow Leopard on my main personal server longer than any other OS version. I only moved to a new version when the last Mac I had that could run SL died.
I like a lot of things that exist in more modern macOS which were not present in SL. I deeply miss its stability.
