Cuban immigrant dies in Georgia detention center, ICE tells Congress

Camp East Montana in El Paso opened in August and quickly became the deadliest ICE facility,

The D-party caved because people at airports had to wait in uncomfortable and inconvenient lines.
The D-party caved because it thought that those waiting at airports were being harmed more than innocents being brutally captured by ICE/CBP, held in genocidal conditions, separated from family, and deported to places with which they have no contacts.

Detainee at "Camp East Montana" says guards bet on suicide
Like other detainees, Ramsingh said that between cleanings the rooms, restrooms and showers were often filthy and infested with insects.
He said detainees stole others’ food because everyone was hungry due to the small and sometimes inedible meals,

Technically the Senate Dems *DID* concede the original demands to claw back ICE/CBP/HSI funds and to ban some of the Fash tactics used in MPLS and Chicago as conditions for any DHS funding.
But those were always sacrificial asks. They existed to be conceded. @…

Many ICE detention facilities are run by large private companies,
such as CoreCivic and the GEO Group,
that also operate many prisons.
The companies say that they provide round-the-clock medical care and proper diets
and that they are subject to government oversight.
But a federal lawsuit and more than two dozen interviews with lawyers, detainees and their family members and elected officials
depict acute deficiencies that they believe contributed to the …

one of the pre-conditions for creating an actual vanguard communist party is you need the community infrastructure (e.g. mutual aid) to support people as full time activists, and that I'd what we're now creating as a response to ICE making it unsafe for some people to leave their homes, I don't think Trump realizes he's creating the material conditions for a vanguard to form

Fort Bliss "**consists of five massive tent structures on the site of a former World War II detention camp for Japanese Americans**. The facility has a maximum capacity of 5,000 people with each tent divided into windowless rooms, where as many as 72 detainees are held around the clock, save the one hour per day when they are taken outside, Morrison said."

On July 4, 2025, protesters gathered outside the Prairieland Detention Facility in a
“noise demonstration,” using drums, speakers and chanting to disrupt operations and draw attention to conditions inside the facility.
Participants “could not go on business as usual as our government forced hundreds into sleeping on floors in overcrowded conditions with no access to adequate medical care.”
What followed has since become known as the Prairieland case.
