@cosmos4u@scicomm.xyzLooks like the full #moon ... but isn't: it's an image from the #JANUS camera on Jupiter-bound #JUICE from the September Earth fly-by with a slightly un-earthly viewing angle - more new pictures in https://www.dlr.de/en/latest/news/2026/say-cheese-juice-snaps-flyby-photos-of-earth-and-moon
@cosmos4u@scicomm.xyzThe second Earth swing-by of #JUICE on its way to Jupiter went as planned yesterday: https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Space_Science/Juice/Successful_Earth_flyby_improves_Juice_s_course_to_Jupiter - and while at it the technical cameras on board the ESA spacecraft got nice views of the Moon (from an unfamiliar perspective ... check out the maria and remember that as seen from Earth it is almost full now) and Earth. And there will be more soon: https://scicomm.xyz/@stim3on@fosstodon.org/117350435441076053
