I will say, that I though Nyoni was fantastic in his limited minutes. I don't think he put a foot wrong (albeit, maybe a hand 😉).
I'd like to see him and Mac Allister more in a double-pivot. That he likes to fall back a bit can work well in this midfield.

Replay shows a clear foul. Commentators discuss a clear foul. Referee sees no foul and spends all kinds of time arguing about leaving the field for an injury stoppage WHEN HE COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE STOPPAGE BY CALLING THE FOUL.

Things you notice... wingers that backtrack. Saw Barcola do it repeatedly in the first half, then just now Kerkez came forward to make a challenge and Munoz is already got him covered. Hopeful signs for a squad that wants to continue to harass the opposition when out of position.

Good win. For a work in progress there is plenty to be happy about. For starters, the intensity is massively improved over last season.
Szoboszlai is my MOTM, but a special shout out to Isak and Wirtz for some terrific pressing.
Jacquet and Araujo look very promising. As much as I was sorry to see Konate leave, I'm thinking #LFC has a good replacement.

Help me understand. Alisson gets called for a penalty last week in which he contacted the attacking player in the box after the ball was away. Gakpo is just cleaned out by a sliding Fatawu in the box after having passed the ball and... ???
