I was so happy reading a piece just now where the author wrote (correctly! ) "give in to political pressure" Yay! Then my elation was punctured in the next sentence: "caving into political pressure" . *Caving in* is also a fixed expression , so the "to" after it SHOULD BE A SEPARATE WORD !
