This is an example of why our class action systems must be changed.
Class actions are good things for certain kinds of cases.
But many lawyers have found them to be a lucrative way to generate prodigious fees (while leaving the victims with only paltry amounts.)
Here's a case where the law imposed a terrible, and unjust, penalty on many small businesses. Like in many class actions the defendants settled, despite having a meritful defense. But did that settlement money…
