phpc.social is now on Mastodon v4.3.7. A bit late (release was two days ago) due to work stuff intervening, but upgrade was quick and painless. #mastoadmin

phpc.social is now using Postgres 17.4 as its database (up from 16.8). That was easy and apparently basically downtime-free. Props to Vultr for having a cleaner upgrade experience than the last time I interacted with RDS.

So I decided to change the max length of posts on this Mastodon instance to 1,500 characters.
I didn't actually have to do as much as most guides for this suggest, it seems since Mastodon v4.3.0 you no longer need to edit compose_form.jsx for the web UI to work

phpc.social is now running Mastodon 4.3.8. Busy week, hence the slow roll on this upgrade (which was made available on Tuesday).
In other news, we're up above 5100 registered users, though that influx has slowed way down of late.
