On our hike last Saturday I wanted to get an ipression of the part of the trail - the problem: the original photo just looked bad - chaos, "bad" light, ...
but I liked the structure and so - converted it to monochrome and was quite surprised to be honest!

This image is a black-and-white photograph capturing a rugged forest scene. The foreground features a patch of bare ground surrounded by dense vegetation, including grasses, shrubs, and fallen branches. Twisted tree roots and exposed soil add texture and a sense of wildness to the scene. In the background, a thick cluster of evergreen trees creates a dark, shadowy backdrop, enhancing the depth and contrast of the image.

I took this during a winter hike when I entered the fog on the ground. There's hardly anything on the photo - but that's what I like about it. It is calming to me

#SilentSunday #photography #monochrome #sepia

Monochrome photo with hints of sepia of a portion of brutalist building in front of which is a large freestanding two-story sign. The top of the sign has 3/4 of a circle at the top featuring the text, “barbican”, and in the middle is the following text: art / theatre / music dance / film / education conferences / library restaurants / bars

#SilentSunday #photography #throwback #monochrome

High-contrast black and white photograph of a stout rectangular building looking towards one of its corners. The façade facing left is in dark shadow while the side facing right is bright. In the foreground is a large array of horizontal glass panels installed near the ground and reflecting the building and the sky. Between the building and the panels is a footpath with two people holding hands walking towards the building.
