The wailing siren at the local chemical processing plant reminds me that #Montreal is testing the emergency alert system today. Hope this helps. (-:

Weather-wise, this is my favourite time of year in #Montreal. It’s warm but not overheating, and the air is still dry enough to enjoy. Everything is coming alive.
This guy is also a big fan of when it’s comfortable for me to work outside.
Why tf are there fighter jets buzzing Montréal? I thought I left that kind of grotesque militarism behind in the US. Or are we under attack?

Love when the fireflies come back.

Guess I didn’t take any photos once it started, but the Angine de Poitrine show at the #Montreal Jazz Festival tonight was pretty great (despite the overflowing crowd).
In fact it was the second best made up language lyrics show I’ve been to in the last year. (-; (Sigur Rós last fall.)

Sure, it snowed on Sunday, but the asparagus proves that Spring is actually finally happening in #Montreal.
There's a chain of #Montreal chicken sandwich restaurants…
Whoever called it “Madame Poulet" and not "Chick Poulet" really missed an opportunity. They should also offer waffle fries.
(There's no Chick Fil-a here.)
In #Montreal , there's almost always a line to wait to get in at Ma Poule Mouillée.
Especially in the evening.
Especially on a Saturday.
Especially on a warm day like today.
But what about on a home-game-hockey-playoff-potential-round-decider night?
Tourists are mostly across the street at La Banquise…
Locals are mostly somewhere within view of a TV screen or the a…
Any chance any of you local #Montreal folks has a 20TB drive I can borrow for a few days? I need to upgrade my home NAS, and I'd like to have an on-site backup in case anything goes wrong.
The summer is heating up! #Edmonton and #Montreal are flooded by historic rains, Lytton BC is under threat again by wildfire, and Vancouver Island is in a historic drought.
Does Environment Canada have the ability to warn us and track the changes in our climate? The government is cutting ECCC services and capabilities at a time that we need it more than ever.
Here's our petition to tell them to restore Environment Canada!
#e7465! We're hoping for many more before the summer ends so Government can't ignore this issue.
Here’s what we, citizens and residents of Canada, are asking from the #Carney Government:
1. Reverse cuts to Environment and Climate Change Canada that impact weather forecasting, meteorological research and climate science;
2. Restore and maintain Weatheradio and other accessible public alert systems;
3. Protect and expand weather observation and climate monitoring stations across Canada;
4. Ensure adequate staffing and long-term funding for ECCC programs, scientists, meteorologists and technical experts; and
5. Recognize weather forecasting and climate monitoring as essential public safety infrastructure.
The petition ends August 26th in time for the new session in the fall. We have the summer to get it done!
