I remember discussions about US subsidies for CCS as far back as 2003 - accompanied by promises that this was THE SOLUTION. The technology for carbon capture is much older. And it still is not "mature" as a means of addressing #ClimateChange. Why do governments keep wasting money on this? None of the projects have delivered as promised.

If the real aim were to cut emissions, we would push fossil fuel use in the electricity sector down to zero, and scale up renewables and battery storage instead. The net effect? Much lower climate impacts and much lower bills. Instead, the programme will greatly ramp up both. Why?

Lese gerade "Verwildert" von George Monbiot. Darin sehr treffend:

Nun fertig gelesen & definitiv ein Buch-Tipp: "Verwildert" von George Monbiot.
Ja: Wir sind in einer Biodiversitätskrise. Und doch sind die Ökosysteme nicht verloren. Ich selbst konnte allein in meiner (kurzen) Lebenszeit die Rückkehr von Wolf, Biber, Kormoran & Kranich in und um Berlin beobachten. Davon spricht das Buch & auch davon, was aktuell im Naturschutz falsch läuft (z.B. "kuratiertes Gärtnern") bzw. was besser funktioniert (loslassen). Wunderbar …
