For today's #MountainMonday I want to share this view again that we had when we were hiking through this beautiful forest.
More about it here:

A serene and enchanting forest scene unfolds in this image, capturing the magic of a sunlit trail. The path, winding through a dense forest of tall trees, is bathed in dappled sunlight that filters through the canopy above. The light creates a mesmerizing play of shadows and highlights, illuminating the vibrant green foliage and the forest floor.

The forest floor is a lush carpet of moss, ferns, and fallen leaves, adding texture and depth to the scene. The trail itself is a mix of earth and sc…

Behold, The Imposing Frieder (2053m).
(Picture from yesterday, confirming that spring is not quite evenly distributed just yet...)

Photo of the imposing north face of a large pyramidal mountain peak, still mostly snow covered even down into the valley. The late afternoon sun is faintly highlighting some of the cracks and ridges in the snow. The silhouettes of some spruces in the foreground. Overcast gray wintry sky.

For #monochromeMonday and #mountainmonday I chose this one!
I took this photo on a snow shoe tour a while ago. That day, I didn't even want to go that far, but it went all well and the views were just beautiful and the whole surrounding was just pure silence.

A striking black-and-white winter landscape unfolds in this image, capturing the serene beauty of a snow-covered slope. The scene is dominated by undulating waves of pristine snow, their smooth curves creating a sense of rhythm and movement across the landscape. The untouched snow glistens under the soft light, adding a sense of purity and tranquility.

Scattered across the slope are a series of thin poles, standing upright and casting delicate shadows on the snow. The poles add a geometric con…

En Route To Fellaria
(This is just a tiny fragment, but it was one of the most memorable days and places I had a chance to visit in 2025... Surreal not just because of the many colors and textures at this time of year [late September], but also the vastness and traces of processes so much larger & older than life...)

Wide-format photo of a high alpine landscape with dried orange grasses (picture taken on a sunny day in early October), shrubs, boulders and patches of small trees. In the medium distance is a large water reservoir with low water level of milky gray water. Steep grassy & rocky slopes and erosion gullies in the background. No visible sky.

Here's my #mountainMonday from the weekend. It's been a nice hike up there.
I almost didn't make it out but finally went to the mountains.
By the time I came there I was really happy that several peoplpe went this trail before. Otherwise ... I'm not sure if I would have gone there without snowshoes to be honest.
Next time, I might really bring snowshoes. …

A picturesque winter scene unfolds in this serene mountain setting. A quaint wooden cabin, with its white walls and rustic charm, sits nestled on a snow-covered slope. The cabin is surrounded by a peaceful blanket of snow, with patches of grass peeking through in places, hinting at the transition between seasons.

Tall evergreen trees frame the cabin, their branches heavy with snow, adding to the idyllic atmosphere. The trees create a natural border, enhancing the sense of seclusion and tranqui…

Penumbra
(Being at the right place at the right time, the geography lining up perfectly to funnel the last light through a steep valley and making the sky glow from this perspective... The silhouettes of the ruins of Castle Eisenberg in the penumbra on the hilltop in the forgeground, also see next pic)

A mountainous winter landscape during sunset, the sky is completely filled with an intense, bright orange/pink glow. Silhouettes of mountains, both in the shade (in the foreground) and in/behind the glow.

Oh almost missed #MountainMonday !
I was out recently just for a bit of training. Luckily I also packed the camera "just in case ..." and saw this frosty / snowy scene.
For those who cannot walk the mountains and see such scenese themselfes.

A serene winter wonderland unfolds in this tranquil forest scene. Tall evergreens, their branches heavy with freshly fallen snow, stretch upward into a soft, overcast sky. The snow clings delicately to each needle and branch, creating a lacy, almost magical effect. The trees stand as silent sentinels, their dark green foliage peeking through the white blanket, adding depth and contrast to the otherwise monochrome landscape.

In the foreground, a gentle slope of untouched snow stretches out, its…

Uhh #mountainMonday again? Okay, this is a view from one of my recent walks.
As usual it was just nice to escape the fog in the valley. It's always the same - when you're below or in the clouds for a couple of days ... it's all just grey and dimm.
And by the minute when I break through into the sunshine, I immediately feel the impact to my mood.

A moody, monochrome dreamscape unfolds where jagged mountain peaks pierce a sea of soft, undulating fog. The rugged silhouettes of the high ridges stand stark against the muted sky, their slopes streaked with patches of snow that hint at lingering winter’s touch. Below, the mist swirls gently, parting just enough to reveal glimpses of dense evergreen forests clinging to the lower hills, their dark forms adding depth to the ethereal scene. A lone bird soars effortlessly between the peaks, its wi…

Uh #mountainMonday again?! where have the past days gone??
Anyways - this photo is from a quick Hike from early January. There was a bit more snow than right now. and as you can see the weather was grey and not too inviting.
But, the good side of it was that I was almost alone! :-D
When I came back the same route, I saw a chamois crossing from left to right. Unfortunately…

A breathtaking winter landscape unfolds in this serene scene, where a snow-covered slope stretches out between dense clusters of evergreen trees. The slope, blanketed in a thick layer of pristine white snow, is marked by a narrow, well-trodden path that winds its way downhill. The path is bordered by footprints, hinting at recent explorers enjoying the winter wonderland.

The evergreen trees, their branches heavy with fresh snow, stand tall and silent on either side of the slope, creating a nat…
