Alpstein
(To me, one of the most stunning and interesting mountain ranges, the tectonic folds here having created the most incredible forms, formations and stunning valleys in between...)

For today's #MountainMonday I want to share this view again that we had when we were hiking through this beautiful forest.

Hoher Ifen (2023)
One of the most unique and geologically interesting and layered mountains in the Northern Alps, including the extremely karst Gottesacker (aka God's Acre, aka Cemetery) plateau with deep caves... one of the areas I'm hoping to explore further this year...

For #MountainMonday I share a #photo from a hike a while ago. It was one of those situations: I didn't expect a good shot - but after all, I like this one pretty much

Behold, The Imposing Frieder (2053m).
(Picture from yesterday, confirming that spring is not quite evenly distributed just yet...)

Monochrome Mirror Mountain Monday

For #MountainMonday I share this view from a recent hike.
The 300mm zoom lens zoomed me into this area. It would be a blast to walk there. Yet this is a protection zone that noone should enter in winter to give wildlife some peace.
Well, I was happy to see that scene with the soft snow ... just beautiful (to me at least)
For #monochromeMonday and #mountainmonday I chose this one!
I took this photo on a snow shoe tour a while ago. That day, I didn't even want to go that far, but it went all well and the views were just beautiful and the whole surrounding was just pure silence.

En Route To Fellaria
(This is just a tiny fragment, but it was one of the most memorable days and places I had a chance to visit in 2025... Surreal not just because of the many colors and textures at this time of year [late September], but also the vastness and traces of processes so much larger & older than life...)
