wow. Looks like my MP has played a not small role in ensuring that the budget passed by abstaining with one of his colleagues.
That said two Conservative MPs also abstained and it sounds like both Sheer and another CPC MP were also prepared to abstain if needed using a weird procedural thing with online vs in person voting.

CBC now reporting (same link as quoted below) that Don Davies - Interim NDP Leader says he will have a press conference *after* the vote, but the NDP caucus will not be announcing how they will vote ahead of time.

The NDP Leadership race is heating up now that the deadline for membership signups is only two weeks away (Jan 28).
Leah Gazan, MP for Winnipeg Centre, and Anjali Appadurai, former BC NDP Leadership candidate who scared the #BCNDP so bad they had to disqualify her from the race, have both today announced their support for Avi Lewis as NDP Leadership candidate. I believe Appadurai has been working in Lewis’ campaign since the beginning.
Both of these women are strong NDP leaders with deeply progressive followers, young and old.

CBC reporting that Elizabeth May has said she will be voting for the budget tonight. Which means the Liberals only need one more vote for it to pass, or for two MPs to abstain.
Seems unlikely we will have an election from this budget vote... but you never know!
