I am glad to see so many statements of shock and anger from local gyms and MMA folks against the use of their spaces by white supremacists.
But when I see the celebration of sheer and utter brutality in UFC events, I really have to wonder how anyone can be surprised that that level of glorification of violence could lead to hatred and violence against other social groups.
I think if you want to ensure these spaces are safe from those influences, then you have to see the UFC and other big promoters making a point of saying and doing more to highlight the problem and address it.
