5 April 2024 Biggest #earthquake in northern #NewJersey since 1884 which was 5.2 magnitude (estimated because no seismographs) on npr.
Professor Alexander Gates of Rutgers is speaking on npr.
Says to expect more earthquakes in the 2-3 magnitude range next few days to weeks. (Says much more likely these will be aftershocks and not bigger foreshock.)

I hope both the Bayonne and Verrazzano-Narrows bridge make sure they have barriers big enough to protect their supports.

Good morning from Newark, New Jersey
#Photography #GoodMorning #Sunrise #NewJersey

Looking through an airplane window twenty-five minutes before sunrise the horizon, at a rakish angle during takeoff, is a bright orange line, and the sky fades above it from yellow to robin-egg blue. Industrial buildings are scattered across the landscape. A body of water - a canal? River? - crosses the frame. The airplane's wing fills the center of frame as a forced-perspective triangle, reflecting the dramatic colors of the sunrise.
