Habe mal die #Cookbook App für #Nextcloud ausprobiert. Funktioniert gut. Werde ich denke ich mal ein paar Rezepte improtieren bzw. einpflegen. Nur die Synchronisation von der Android App ist etwas hakelig. Da werde ich besser die Rezepte besser im Browser importieren.

I do like #NextCloud but sometimes it can drive me crazy. For example, fresh update, hundreds of errors with astoundingly unhelpful messages. Consider:
chmod(): Operation not permitted at /var/www/nextcloud/apps/recognize/lib/Migration/InstallDeps.php#169
ok, so what do we find at line 169? a call to chmod() on presumably a filename, wrapped in an exception Catch.
I realize this is very much non-trivial software with oodles of hours of difficult work by so many kind people, but, really, how much effort would it have been to include the errant target FILENAME in the exception message?
Similarly, a deprecation warning is, by definition, a Warning, not an error.
None of this affects my using Nextcloud, but it does really clutter the log and who knows, maybe some of these Errors are actually important?

Is there some setting in #Nextcloud that would cease posting these tagging messages? As evident in the image below, while occasionally useful, most often, by a large margin, the tags are hilariously inaccurate (a tuning note A is 'rap') but as I have thousands of photos and audio files, the constant stream of these renders notifications useless,

I found out today that the Photos app of #Nextcloud got updated.
Feels better but still isn't for me, Memories matches better.
If only I could figure out why it sorts photos by their modification time instead of the Exif creation date.

So we tried #nextcloud talk yesterday with friends and it was AMAZING. I first struggled with sound in-out but that was clearly my setup with external speakers and external camera. (really not the typical setup!)
But the 2h video call went totally smooth, good quality, no lag.

Planning a video"meeting" with friends via #nextcloud talk. I just did a test with my wife and I must admit that I am amazed how easy it just worked!
I'm curious if it works as expected.

Question for #Fediverse experts: There's a new community I became a part of that communicates primarily through a #Signal group atm.
Pretty good (#Whatsapp is still the standard here) but they're not completely happy with it. One of the reasons I heard was that they'd like some way to organise #events, hold #polls, distribute #files and other info..
Is there a #Fedi #platform that offers these things? Or would something like #Nextcloud be a better option?
