I work from home (so don't commute), haven't daily driven a guzzolene car in 6 years, and primarily get around by bicycle between April and November. I still feel empathy for people who feel trapped into paying $75 for a tank of gas for their Camry, though. I feel more empathy for people who are trapped by a $300 /mo WE Energies bill. We really need to get out of using fossil fuels in this state.

Because Trump lifted sanctions on Russian oil, Ukraine has only one choice and that is making exporting oil as difficult as possible, therefore massive attacks on oil infrastructure like in Novorossiysk. The scary thing for Putin, he doesn't seem to be able to defend against these attacks.

There is 2.79 tonnes of CO2 in 1 tonne of average crude oil.
2025 exports: 24.4 million tonnes
= 68 million tonnes of CO2
Oh, but that's not all!
Alberta oil emits about 85kg of CO2 for every barrel of oil produced.
24.4 million tonnes of crude is 176 million barrels
Another 14 million tonnes of CO2!

1) food and gas price controls
2) food and gas rebates/grants
3) EV, solar and wind mandates and grants
4) direct investment in electrification of fossil fuel transport and infrastructure, today. Move all existing projects on the books up to start asap.
These are just some of the things that could directly and immediately help Canadians through #theAmericanFascists oil wars.
Acting like it is 1975 and we just have to stick it out because there is no alternative is a cop out and makes you complicit.

I hate this timeline.
As a long time #climate campaigner... I almost feel like I should be hoping that the Iran/US war continues as long as possible so the price of oil and gasoline can go as high as possible and force economies to electrify and shift at emergency-speed to renewables.
