This weekend is the last chance to say goodbye to our local West Montrose Covered Bridge ("Kissing Bridge"). The historic 145 year old span of the Grand River is the last remaining original one in #Ontario. It will be replaced over the next 2 years by a rebuilt covered bridge, with hopefully many of the original elements reused.

Driving around rural #Ontario this weekend we happened on a damn fine French bakery (when you marry a Gaul, you learn about such things). The place is nowhere near much of anything. If you ever end up on Highway 89 in Mono, do yourself a favour and stop by Bistro Dupain.

Happy Civic to those who celebrate!
Those of you in other countries may take note that, so far as I know, #Ontario is the only place with a statutory holiday in honour of the sub-compact import automobile that changed everything.

neil watchers: last night's benefit in #ontario included the 1st "my boy" since 1983, the 1st "name of love" since '14 &, most exciting to me, the 1st (live) "love/art blues" since '08.

We were in Mt Forest, #Ontario for a performance last night when #tornado warning alarms went off on all the phones. Tremendous amount of lightning, but haven't seen any official reports of damage yet. This is what the sky looked like at 9 pm 😬.
