Phallophoria, carrying of a large phallus, depicted on an Attic black-figured kylix cup. Six presumably male figures carry a large bearded figure holding two grapevines and a man-sized phallus. The phallus has an eye on the glans and other decorations along the shaft.

Photograph of a water pump in the shape of a man. The water comes out of his willy. The same concept as a famous Roman fountain uses with a sculpture of Priapus.

Intaglio. Pierced for stringing (horizontal). Motif oriented horizontally. A woman, seated on a cushioned bed, has intercourse with a male partner. Her face and legs are seen in profile, while her torso is twisted toward the viewer in a viewpoint somewhere between three-quarters and frontal. The woman wears a beaded necklace, a bracelet on her right arm, earrings, and thin slippers. Her hair is bound up in a scarf, with a few locks of hair escaping at her forehead and crown. She has a long nose…

Photograph of a Greek terracotta Priapos against a black background. The fertility god stands with his feet together on a high integral plinth, leaning against a tree trunk to his left, his left hand resting on top, depicted with a full beard, his long center-parted hair pulled back and gathered in a chignon at the base of his neck. His body is enveloped in a himation but his erect phallus is fully exposed, even the glans, which was considered obscene in ancient Greece.

Phallus-shaped bronze amulet with two round testicles and a loop for a necklace dated to the 1st century CE.
Phallic emblems are found on a wide range of Roman objects, from amulets to frescoes to mosaics to lamps. They were symbols intended to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. As the ancient author Pliny attests, even babies and soldiers wore such charms to invite divine protection.
