I want to replace my mom's cell phone. I was hoping that there would be a good deal on a Pixel 10 right after they released it but it's just $800. Can I get a good deal on a Pixel 9? Nope! It's $800 also.

When I bought a #Pixel phone, I've spent three times as much as I usually spend. I figured out it's justified, since I'm finally going to have a phone with good software support (#GrapheneOS).
Over the last 6 months, #Google:
1. locked down the device tree,
2. increased embargo to security updates to 3 months,
3. broke battery charge limiter.
Won't recommend this to anyone.
