Ich hatte mal von #Pixelfed ein paar Bilder mit dem Tag #marokko gepostet. Einige der Bilder kommen hier bei #Mastodon nur zur Hälfte an. Ein Teil des Bildes ist grau.
Interessantes Phänomen.

Since upgrading my #Pixelfed the webapp no longer works in Android Chrome. It is fine on Firefox and PixelDroid, but Chrome says nope.

Anyone else having problems logging into their #pixelfed account using the #Pixelix android client?
The tusky client works fine, so i guess it is not a server problem.

Jedes Mal, wenn ich #Pixelfed öffne, suche ich den Knopf zum Posten eines Bildes. Irgendwann finde ich es dann mehr oder weniger durch Zufall.

Here's a #PixelFed update #git issue I didn't expect: installed on an rpi5, the git was cloned to the sdcard, but after installation I had to move /storage to a USB drive and so symlinked the path. I also had to modify database.php to use pgsql.
Now, when I attempt a pull, I'm told to stash my changes, but stash throws an error because composer.lock was changed and /storage/app/.gitignore is now a symlink.
error: 'storage/app/.gitignore' is beyond a symbolic link
fatal: Unable to process path storage/app/.gitignore
Whatever this stash test is, it doesn't obey root .gitignore, and I did a git rm --cached on that file which shouldn't be IN the repo anyway, and wasn't. Google and DDG refuse to understand that this isn't about adding filenames to .gitignore and git itself has no obvious override.
So I'm stuck 😞

The git stash vs symlink thing was easily solved by just undoing my database.php pgsql setting and deleting composer.lock, then the git pull goes ahead, some dancing with artisan and ig.teledyn.com is, I hope, now running the new #Pixelfed

Marketing Idea:
Create a series of posts, memes or videos where real people share their positive experiences with #Mastadon, #Pixelfed, #PeerTube, #Loops, #Lemmy, #Friendica, etc. - like the example below. Then post those ad nauseum on the equivalent services: X, BlueSky, Threads, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Meta, etc. Think of it like a guerrilla campaign injecting positive experiences directly into the tech bros home turf. Be relentless with the messages.
I've seen some Fediverse content on U.S. social media platforms, like videos explaining what the Fediverse is, or how to choose a server on Mastodon. But, with all respect to our technical experts (love you all), we shouldn't have nerds selling the Fediverse to non-technical social media users. People will relate to real people connecting seamlessly across different platforms - for family, for entertainment, for education.
