Le Conseil Fédéral estime qu'il ne faut pas amender les véhicules trop bruyants à l'aide de radars. Les bases légales et techniques pour sanctionner le bruit routier de cette manière seraient insuffisantes. L'Union des villes suisses et plusieurs élus réfutent ce choix.
