Today's the day I tell the students about the massive improvements in southern Ontario's railways. In 1863, the trip from Union Station to Port Credit took 37 minutes. In 2026, the GO train will you get you there a whole 6 minutes faster.
Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) now also sells tickets for ÖBB 🇦🇹, SBB 🇨🇭, SNCF 🇫🇷, Eurostar 🇫🇷 🇧🇪 🇳🇱 🇬🇧, Trenitalia 🇮🇹 and SJ 🇸🇪

I see that the #Łódź region railways play hard.
It says: "Turn your smartphone on. By looking someone in the eyes, you risk falling in love."
So I'm reading the changelog for the Polish railways' Passenger's Portal app (i.e. checking what they broke), and it turns out that the developers discovered compression.
I mean, the app's been updating "dictionaries" practically every single day for years (surely available stations change frequently), and they weren't even compressed! What's next? Discovering Last-Modified and refetching only if something actually changes?!
