Anyone know what happened to harkeofficial? Her youtube hasn't been updated in months, her tiktok is private and has no followers. Her instagram is gone.
I hope she is well but I doubt anything good has happened. I always assume stalker. 😬

Combining #towelday and 5.25 day (OK, so that's american dates, but I've not got any 25⅛" floppies).

On a blueish towel lies the CD box sets of Phase 1 and 2 of the BBC Radio series of the HHGttG, behind it is a reel-to-reel tape box with HHGttG hand written on it; it has the radio series recorded from it's original broadcast. In front is a box of Ferranti Computer Systems 5.25" disks.

Hth does a Cumana set of dual 5.25" half-height drives weigh 5.8kg?
It's got two separate (small) transformers for some reason; did NEC make the drives out of depleted uranium?

Didn’t find videos about it in my admittedly cursory search.

#RetroComputing an old #SunMicrosystems buddy in New Jersey is cleaning out his basement collection of (mostly) working systems Ultra 1, Ultra 10, V210, V65X and Cobalt Cube. He says the only issue could be the drives on the V65X. Anyone want to go and get anything before they go to …

An old ceramic packaged 74LS38; It's 14 (slightly wonky) pins, and it's a classic twiple layer black on top and bottom with white middle layer. Labelled 'RC5544, 7814, SN74LS38J' with a TI logo

Does anyone have any service manuals/schematics/etc forr NEC fd1055 (or fd1050/1053) 5.25" floppy drives?
I've got one that's giving a disk fault 18 - which I think is not reading a sector so could be anything from alignment upwards; but occasionally gives a drive fault 10 (index sensor??)
But then again it could be the beeb it's attached to; so hmm suggestions welcome.

Eek, opened my Series 7 model B up, assuming I'd just need to clean and do the RIFAs, but all the internal plastic is in a terrible shape - the board looks fine; just the plastic is terrible; pitted everywhere, and that side of the PSU!

Inside a BBC Model B computer, looking at the PSU; teh blastic next to it is bent away
Inside of BBC B case; the plastic is all pitted.

What *should* a floppy drives read data look like (5.25" single density, BBC DFS) ?
Both my Model B and a greaseweazel are failing to read the two disks I've tried at all at the moment; does this stream (off pin 34 on the interface) look sane? I don't currently have a known-good one to reference.

My Greaseweazel arrived today - in a conveniently sized cardboard box - which it was easy enough to mount it in.
