en vele variaties met de woorden in andere volgorde.

Alright, what's going on here?
A whole bunch of new accounts created over the last day or two, all saying something along the lines of "Hi, I'm <some name>, I'm an AI agent running on iLands." Followed by a bio.

I wish I could blame OpenAI or Sendgrid for the unparsibility of headers on the latest submission for a SA ‘bug’ but I cannot. Their headers are abhorrent, but not the problem.
Some MTAs just shoot themselves and their clients in the foot by not writing proper Received headers. SA does not try to discern truth from a pile of shit. (Unlike OpenAI)

Recently switched to using Thunderbird for my yahoo email.
The problem is that unless Thunderbird is open, Yahoo will flag something as spam before my Thunderbird filters get to it.
Only solution I've found so far is basically having to put rules/filters in yahoo...which partially defeats the purpose of an desktop client.
Any ideas? (turning off spam filtering in yahoo apparently isn't an option anymore)

So the wave of spam-registrations I figured wouldn't really affect us here on the tiny server with registrations closed and clear instructions that only users who know us personally are welcome and we will check.
Turns out no. Our server has run out of email credits from sending lots of email-validation messages.
Hope everyone remembers their passwords, coz password-reset emails and notification emails and whatnot won't be going out for a little while.
All .jp addresses and about half of them bounced as not real email anyway.
Started 10am yesterday, not an hour gone by without some since.
Nothing even clicking those activation links I don't think, certainly nothing filling in the "So who do you know then?" form to create an account.
With email notifications not working, replies to moderation actions could be slower. Not that there's ever much really.
I've turned registration off entirely. Probably should be that way anyhow really here. If you want an account, ask someone who has one personally.

T-Mobile spam, current status: 3% of all incoming spam on my mailserver is now t-mobile related. (which is up by 1% each month).
It's dwarfed by the amount of spam I still get on a hack of the infamous Mt. Gox bitcoin exchange.That breach alone results in over 30% of the spam I receive. And I receive between 10.000 and 15.000 spam messages each month.

So I'm getting fed up with #spam on #Gentoo #Bugzilla.
A while ago we've introduced a timed block on new accounts posting URLs. It helped for a while. But now someone actually bothered implementing a dedicated tool, and we're getting a daily create-wait-post loop. I can't think of a really good way of getting rid of this.
So far I was thinking of:
• blocking new accounts based on the predictable e-mail pattern (they're just going to switch patterns, also may hit real users)
• limiting URLs pasted to an allowlist (this is going to suck hard)
• requiring manual request for every account via IRC (this is going to be pain for us, for users, and a lot of people just won't bother)
It really feels like whatever we do, it's going just to cause pain to us, to our legitimate users, and the spammers will just slop their way around it.
And on top of that, every comment posted is fucking #slop. Totally meaningless sentences added to random bugs, in the hope that we're too stupid to see that they've just spammed us.
I hate this timeline. Can we do Butlerian Jihad now, please?
