Looking out my hotel window in Saigon on a visit last April. I really need to get back. #travel
So, you receive an email about an issue that was opened on my Cosmix-Saigon repo. Go through the paces and clean up the code (there were some minor niggles, although everything worked).
Decide to open and address the actual issues mentioned. Issue was withdrawn previously π€£
Well, okay, at least it's at its best again π
I never saw Godzilla (1998), but #monsterdon watched it tonight. I *still* haven't seen it (I was putting kids to bed at 9pm), but that movie soundtrack included an incredible song by Rage Against The Machine that called out movies like Godzilla for being part of American imperialism.

As someone who was born just a couple years before the Fall of Saigon and who remembers very well the quagmire of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, I canβt understand how anyone older than me can be anything but appalled at the war with Venezuela in 2026, especially with what appears to be no concrete plan on how they are going to achieve success. Have you idiots learned nothing from these painful lessons?
I obviously had a great short break. Totally forgot my revitalized setup of the River wm on FreeBSD, finished the night before departure π . Cleaned up applications for Wayland. My educated guess is that Tumbleweed will be moved off the laptop (I mean who needs AI?) in favor of FreeBSD KDE pretty soon...

After cosmix-saigon (using the unstable channel of NixOS, bcs of the most updated Cosmic DE) I just revitalized asterix-saigon.

Welcome to Aurorix Saigon, my opinionated take on Aurora KDE, showing a menu and a terminal window with installed cli tools. These CLI tools were installed using a predefined list in Homebrew , as was the Ungoogled Chromium flatpak. An automatically created custom image. This is very cool; further tweaking to follow.

I want to be ready for that Cosmic launch. And I got triggered by some toots. So I put cosmix-saigon back on the work laptop. Based on the nixbook project (thnks @… !) and nixos unstable (yep, living on the edge again). Solid. And ready!
