Just totally abandoned my signal history on desktop in order to install the beta and get a good username.
I doubt many people's actual reason for refusing to use signal is that you have to expose your phone number to contacts, but when the beta version becomes the production version, everyone can set a username instead and not have to reveal their phone number any more and will be forced to find some other excuse.
More useful than Stories at least.
Probably ought to abandon private-messager histories more often anyway truth be known.

What'sApp uses the Signal Protocol to protect the contents of comms. But it doesn't protect things like your contact list, profile name, who's in a group chat, who's messaging whom, etc. Signal protects all of these. This is a very important differentiator.

4) Telegram - This is not even a private message app, this is a public not-encrypted message app. Why is it even on this list? It might as well say "email".
