One more memory from the Bayerischer Wald . Aaaand: this is one of the reasons why we like this region: it's so lush green and vivid and ... not so steep. The vegetation is just different. And so it's simply another kind of experience.

The stream, clear and sparkling, meanders through the woodland, its gentle murmur blending with the rustling leaves and distant bird calls. Towering trees, their trunks wrapped in a tapestry of green and brown, stand as silent guar…

I’m back from this summer’s silent retreat, stepping into ordinary life again. Whoah!
It was an intense time for for me, as you’ll see from this I gave at the retreat, in which I encounter myself in the form of a demon, in the form of a painting, and in the form of a hermit-nun.

Simply apologizing to call center folks for making their call time metrics go up goes a LONG way to getting a friendlier interaction and sometimes shibboleet help. These poor folks are getting slammed with metrics and yet the reason they exist is because computers could not solve the problems you're calling in about. I remember being IT Help Desk and it is AWFUL right now.

We had several product feeds set to "Generate via scheduler." The queue worker got OOM-killed mid-export, and the feed never came back — not on the next tick, not ever. Turns out the CLI export command silently refuses to help you here too. Here's why, and how we moved feeds off the scheduler for good.
