my solution to the nightmare that is "SPI modes"

class Mode(enum.IntEnum, shape=2):
    IdleLow_SampleRising   = 0 # CPOL=0, CPHA=0
    IdleLow_SampleFalling  = 1 # CPOL=0, CPHA=1
    IdleHigh_SampleFalling = 2 # CPOL=1, CPHA=0
    IdleHigh_SampleRising  = 3 # CPOL=1, CPHA=1

    @classmethod
    def from_cpol_cpha(cls, cpol: Literal[0, 1], cpha: Literal[0, 1]):
        return cls(cpol << 1 | cpha)

crime: Rosenfeld crime network (1991)
A network of associations among suspects, victims, and/or witnesses involved in crimes in St. Louis in the 1990s. Data are derived from police records, via snowball sampling from five initial homicides. Left nodes are people, right nodes are crime events, and edges connect people to particular crimes events they were associated with. Metadata includes names, genders, and roles (suspects, victims, and/or witnesses).
This network has 1380 nodes…

Another evening, another few filters getting OOM speedups.
Tonight it was invert (27.3x, trivial memory bound shader that just outputs negative x[i] for each output sample) and the 8B/10B decode (didn't even bother to GPU it, just removing the redundant sampling operation by using the new CDR recovered-data output was enough for a 12.1x speedup and 6ms on my 50M point benchmark is fast enough I'm in no hurry to GPU... but at faster data rates with lower oversampling factors it …

Acquiring solar panels at home can be an expensive hassle for people in the US.
But small, simple, plug-in solar panels for use on balconies are soon to become available for millions of Americans,
with advocates hoping the technology will quickly go mainstream.
Balcony solar panels are now widespread in countries such as Germany
– where more than 1m homes have them
– but have until now been stymied in the US by state regulations.
This is set to change, wit…
