When no one cares, and no one sees
That private prayer upon your knees,
God hears your words to move the world,
When by his will he speaks to build
The Kingdom with his powerful ease ─
In private prayer it's God who's skilled
To hear the man with whom he's pleased.

Would lips of verse put me in a bind,
Or make me famous in my time?
