It seems that most of these disagreements come from the fact that I seem to work on different models of how FOSS work. Over the years, I have tried to share parts of my model. This is part of this endeavor.

I'd really like to find a way to migrate a domain (and existing account & posts) between two pieces Fediverse server software, keeping all post urls.
Not the existing Move feature - that assumes new & old servers are running in parallel at different urls.
I want to take a backup from Mastodon, stop the server, convert all the toots to some common format, start up GoToSocial, and import. Without losing reply glue on old toots or spamming.

Has anyone heard of this #writing #software before - Ellipsus?
I saw them in a YouTube sponsorship and was intrigued by their anti-AI stance. Seems like it could be a reasonable non-big-tech alternative to Google Docs with the same collaboration features.

Update:
It looks like they have gone to subscription model to access the “Pro” apps (FCP, Motion, Logic, Mainstage, Compressor, Pixelmator)
But the original “iWork" apps are still free. Pages, Keynote, Numbers (and by extension iMovie though it is not included in the "Creator Studio” presumably because it ships with every Mac)
That said... and yes... this is how they get you… the annual subscription for everything is "only” $180/yr or $18/mo plus Family Sharing privleges.
That goes down to $40/yr and $4/mo if you do the Educational license, but no family provisions.
