There is more to #SolarPunk than solar panels and bikes. What we are talking about is being part of a living world. The hegemonic culture is one of hierarchical domination.
But many of the the cultures that hegemony suppresses bring a vibrancy to life. I don't buy yeast from the store, sealed in a plastic packet, a coffin for a living thing. I feed my sourdough. I am obligated to it, in a relationship with it, as the culture is reliant on me for it's survival. It speaks to me, with smell and color. I must pay attention. I have to learn it's nature, how it grows and eats at different temperatures informed by different times of the year. Mushrooms, yeast, kiefer, plants, independent things, things I can't control, life that is intertwined with my own.
But even my #bicycle speaks to me, which is something I hadn't considered until reading this and thinking about that framing.
It is not simply that "we need a different economic system." What we are talking about is a fundamentally different interpretation and experience of the world, from the hierarchical structure of death to a web of life, where even "inanimate" things become imbued with agency.

Still going through numerous recorded webcasts and TV broadcasts of the ecent Total #SolarEclipse on YouTube - and finding to my surprise that many of the experienced groups or large TV channels blew it right at second contact which is arguably the most important moment for the audience: image out of focus, solar crescent just leaving the FOV, using an H-alpha telescope only which is counter-productive for total eclipses etc. From what I've seen so far the clear winner remains the feed from Iceland of all places, mentioned earlier in the thread, and in https://www.facebook.com/groups/SolarEclipseChasers/posts/28259718680290370/ I mention four other interesting cases - and ask for links to other winners. Pipe and electrical wiring going in the trench!
The plumber came today with the water pipe so this is all very exciting. Now that I, back to work I don’t have much time except in the evenings and weekends but we’ll get everything in there and cut to appropriate length so we can cover up the trench!
Yay!
I had a minor panic when I realized I originally, with our old shed, used 3-conductor wiring for the Enphase inverters. But this time I bought 2 conductor (single phase).
But I double checked the wiring diagrams and indeed single phase is adequate for up to 9 panels.

Germany added approximately 1.28 GW of new PV capacity in June, bringing cumulative installed solar power to around 125.2 GW at the end of the month.

Looking for some #diy #solar advice. Specifically, I am looking for a bracket solution whereby I could mount solar panels on the top of each fence post around the yard. (either full size 6x3ft rectangular panels or 5x5 “half size”?
My backyard is in a state of flux, and the fence is new last fall so this is the time to do it.
The brackets would need to attach on the inward facing side of the post, or as a “cap” over the top of the post and then have a bracket that holds the panel up and far enough away to clear the fence at an angle.
The long side of our yard faces north/south so it is perfect for panels throughout the year.
We get strong southerly winds so they would need to be solid.
Suggestions appreciated. It would be great if there was something purpose built for mounting panels on fences.
It might be something I just need to have made custom (there are lots of welding shops in town) but I am not sure how to make sure that the panel itself would be able to attach to the bracket properly.

Maybe this is the way.
Treat it like one single line of panels by extending the posts up attaching to a cross bar that would go the full length of the fence (or however long the line of panels is) and provide the base for each panel.
