One of the absolute best things about #portalberni is the No7 Steam Train. It was under repairs for a few years and boy did we miss it but this year it has run on many weekends. Itโs doing Santa runs along the waterfront and rail yard every Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening to Christmas!

For fans of #Steam games where you can build -really- broken mechanics like Balatro or Slay the Spire (#deckbuilders, #roguelikes, etc. - "Make the numbers go UP!"), LOOTPLOT has been *extremely* satisfying for me
It's like: "what if Incredible Machine, but Ballionaire" - you randomly get access to a bunch of items that each have their own mechanics and trigger/play off each other, which you build out on a grid - but the grid itself can be manipulated by the items. Some of the interactions are absolutely wild.
Plays a little rough on CrossOver - I think the dynamic scaling plays havoc with texture calculation - but is still enjoyable all the same. (It's written in LรVE - I really hope the author releases a macOS build!)
The sale price of $3.49 is crazy good for the enjoyment value I've gotten out of it

Thanks to @…, I'm now the owner of a Steam Deck! ๐คฏ Just loaded 100 games on it from the collection, and now the true test, as many are older indies - only a few of the ones I loaded are sure to work. ๐ But testing them all and finding out will be interesting.

I am surprised Steam doesnโt exist on iPad..
But maybe I am ignorant about how Steam works?

Been playing Roots Devour (#Steam via CrossOver on #macOS
BE THE ELDRITCH HORROR YOU ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE
It's pretty great, put in 8 hours so far.
The general gist of the game is strategic, puzzle-like reveal of map levels - capturing cards of creatures and humans, wrapping them in your blood sucking vines, and generally conquering all.
When you get stuck, spend some of the blood to open a card pack and get random helper tools, effects, and critters.
Sounds are superb and visuals are very ๐๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ป๐ธ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ - if you dig Cult of the Lamb or Darkest Dungeon, you'll probably enjoy it.
Only downside is that there's an occasional indicator that English is not the primary language of the game developers. Very rarely you can see untranslated Chinese text on-screen, one or two oddities (uncapitalized, punctuation slightly off). This is unfortunately probably why they're getting a little beat up in the Steam reviews.
Honestly, in my 8 hours so far, I've noticed it like 3? 4? times tops so far. The game is so very much my jam, it really hasn't bothered me.
Some people are also reviewing it as "too linear" - they definitely gave up way too early. There are SECRETS, side areas, choices you can make, intentionally difficult areas that will take some thinking to unlock, etc.
Currently 10% off right now, give it a shot!
Here's my Steam Replay link. I figure this is better viewing than anything that might be going on currently.

I picked up Spirit City Lofi Sessions today. Really chill and awesome to play in the background while working #SpiritCity #Steam #MooncubeGames
The Planet Crafter is currently on sale on #Steam for about $12 and I've already put 13 hours into it and it's a *fantastic* survival crafter where you terraform an entire planet from Mars-like conditions all the way to Earth-like
I'm probably 10%? of the way into the content so far and it's still super engaging. Watching the atmosphere change color, clouds and rainfall appear, seeing life start to spread - it's so so rewarding
Plays well on CrossOver on macOS, *but* whatever they did for mouse logic on the game makes it fail to register clicks in CrossOver. Fortunately gaming controller support is present and excellent, so I've been using that.

Trying out this #deckbuilder on #Steam called Into The Grid - very much my aesthetic and tastes - cyberpunk of the deck/grid runner flavor - runs natively on macOS, which is very nice! Some pretty slick animation. We'll see how it goes re: gameplay. Definitely pleasing to look at so far, though there's a few visual glitches I'll be reporting as bugs.

Ha someone asked a question about the steam frame: what is the situation with desktop mode? Are we getting a KDE VR desktop experience? I know it's a lot of work but Wayland is kind of VR ready and the opportunities seems so cool....

Is This Seat Taken? (Multi, XP'd on #SteamDeck ) A charming little puzzle game where you help shapes find the perfect spots.
As the title suggests, this game is all about placing things in the right seat. There's a little story to go with it about one of the shapes wanting to be a movie star.
It's cute, cozy, and perfect for bedtime/on the go short sessions on the โฆ
Nice! And on sale too - this one has been on my wishlist for a while

You know me. I love some #Steam games - especially when it's:
- cheap
- plays on macOS
- has ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Found a new one. Very few reviews but _man oh man_ is it an environmental -vibe- when you're playing
It's amusingly self-tagged "Relaxing" and I'm ... not sure about that? Like ... watch the trailer. You hear that background hum? That's the RAIN. The death from above. And it's in stereo and directional. The rain *hums*. It gets louder when you're in danger. And it kills. And it's coming down from above while you're trying to smash and accomplish goals. You get .... twitchy
For $5 tho? Totally great.
