No family as houseguests this weekend. The wee one is back at his mother's place and the grand-dog is back with my daughter. I have no plans apart from the usual weekend chores. Husband is feeling somewhat better so I'm hoping we might even be able to go for a small amble on Sunday and have a coffee together.

I found a shady spot in the backyard to have breakfast and watch the birds. I daresay it'll be too hot to venture out soon. The washing machine is humming along in the background.

The ibis are steadily encroaching further into suburbia. They moved into the adjacent suburb a couple of years ago, today they are in mine. I'm now awaiting the day I come out to find one sitting on the bird feeder awaiting breakfast!

I had a delightfully relaxed day with a friend today.
We grazed on smoked cheese, prosciutto, and quince paste. And finished off with some Maltesers for dessert. All accompanied with a couple of bottles of Moscato.
We also watched 3 movies:

Shaun of the Dead (ITV)
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (hard drive)

A chilly Canberra sunday morning: grandson is still asleep, grand-dog is on my bed, and I have a cup of tea and a mastodon home feed to read before I contemplate getting up. I love Sundays!

Woke up around 4 am in a dark room by the sounds of breathing and sighing. Turned on the light. The grand-dog had opened my door and snuck in. He was lying on the floor alongside my bed and sighing wistfully because there was no room for him on the bed.

The next few days are definitely going to be hectic - 2 house guests - one the grand-dog (blue heeler) and the other the almost 3 year old grandson. Neither has seen each other in several months. Both are somewhat used to being the centre of attention. Both like to snuggle with me on my bed. So it could be interesting. 😁

Cancelled plans to go to the multicultural festival this morning. It's very wet, and I'm rather tired, and so I'll just spend the day playing with the wee one. What a hardship. 😁

I'm home from our friends' wedding rehearsal. I need to wind down and get some much needed sleep before the big day tomorrow. Meanwhile, the wee one, who hasn't had a nap today, is still running around full of energy. What a difference a mere 50 years makes!
