The second part of voyages around #Szczecin: Szczecin Zdroje (= springs, as in the source of water).
We're going to find two highlights around there: Park Leśny Zdroje (= Springs Forest Park), and Puszcza Bukowa (= Beechwood), with Bukowe Zdroje (= Beech Springs) reserve. I'm going to focus on the first one today. As for Puszcza Bukowa, I'm going to say only that it's a huge forest with lots of hills, and it's kinda like going to the mountains. You can spend hours there.
As for Park Leśny Zdroje, it's got interesting landscape too. I've photographed its four most important highlights (in my opinion) for your viewing pleasure:
1. Jezioro Szmaragdowe (= Emerald Lake), named after its characteristic water color. There's a walking path across its southern and eastern shore, as well as on top of the surrounding hills. However, there's also a lot of mosquitoes there.
2. "Oko na Szczecin" (= Eye on Szczecin) overview. Unfortunately, it's been overgrown badly with surrounding shrubs. Hard not to think that "the world has moved on".
3. A #tunnel of old mine railroad. It's in a middle of a slightly overgrown path in the middle of a gully. No rails remain, though.
4. Czanowskie Wzgórze (= Chan Hill?). A nice overlook over a cliff. This one's not overgrown at all; also has no protective railings, and the ground is declining towards the cliff. Just saying, as an acrophobic person.

Szczecina część druga, czyli #Szczecin Zdroje.
Na Zdrojach znajdziemy dwie atrakcje: Park Leśny Zdroje, oraz szerszą Puszczę Bukową, wraz z pobliskim rezerwatem Bukowe Zdroje. Dziś zajmę się wyłącznie tym pierwszym. O drugiej natomiast powiem tyle, że jest to olbrzymi kompleks ze zróżnicowanym terenem, którego nie powstydziłyby się pomniejsze tereny górskie. Można tam wędrować godzinami.

Warszawa ma Warszawę Centralną.

Today photos from my recent #hiking over the north-west part of #Szczecin.
I've started at Jasne Błonia plaza. Its sides feature rows of plane trees. Next, Jan Kasprowicz Park, and on the other side of the road, dendrological garden. Next, Różanka (= rose garden) park and then Syrenie Stawy (= mermaid ponds), followed by Arkona Forest.
I've first went north-west, passing by Goplana #Lake, Wędkarski (= fishing) Pond (I've taken the mallard photo there), and Głębokie (= deep) Lake (second and third photos are from its eastern shore). Next, I went east over Siedmiu Młynów (= 7 mills) way. And then, towards Arkona hill, on top of which there are magnificent #ruins of Quistorp Tower (the fourth photo is from its second floor).
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Szczecin, with mgorny quality mark. If you catch a local train towards Krzyż from Poznań at 5 AM, and then grab Regio towards Szczecin there, you can reach the main station at 8.30.

As you have probably noticed already, I'm not a big fan of cities. My preferred kind of place is a town surrounded by a forest, or even better — a train stop in middle of a forest, with two houses or so.
Still, many cities in Poland have an important advantage — they're surrounded by great forests (unfortunately, sometimes distant from the railway infrastructure). Furthermore, in these forests you feel that people actually do matter — tourists, hikers. They aren't just an afterthought, a nuisance making it harder to cut trees down.
