Had a successful playtest of "Traces to Nowhere" this third adventure for ESPionage. This one replicates the Brindlewood Bay mystery mechanic using Fate's Overcome.
They didn’t solve the mystery, but they had fun getting sidetracked and joined a militia.

My rules of thumb:
• Interesting, you can make up on the fly, but memorable takes work.
• NPCs only need the stats that PCs interact with; often, they don't even need names. I have an idea about making a #ttrpg campaign in a historical way where players keep the same character more of less as normal but at every session they play the descendant of the last character a few generation later.
