Well, the smart light in the office bedroom has decided to stop connecting to my home app. I can use the light app on my phone but I like being able to just tell the bloody thing what to do. So I'm back to a normal globe again (non-dimmable, non-colourised) - which feels rather primitive. I wouldn't have bothered buying one but this was a gift from my son. And the wee one loves it. Disappointing.💡

I’m honestly sick of the attitude in this industry that you periodically go on call and can get paged for any reason while you’re on call, and it’s just normal and OK this happens. And then there’s the smug people who say “well it wouldn’t be like that if you did X Y Z.”
Yeah no shit, if things were different, then things would be different. I work in the real world and I haven’t seen a very functional real world model of this yet.

This "mini web tool" site has tools tech people tend to frequently use. I like that the "Image to text" tool lets us just paste image from clipboard; and not have to load from a file. And text extraction happens entirely in the browser. 👍👍
