Pleasantly surprised I can measure this timing difference on my cheap scope; In both cases this is a chain of a pair of inverters in a 74LS04 package; the difference between the two captures is just the length of breadboard wire between the 1st and 2nd inverter; the first is about 1cm and the 2nd is about 20cm; so that's about 0.5ns difference measured which is reasonable - and surprisingly good for a 500MS/s scope.

Welp... Just RFQ'd my usual Chinese board house for the switch engine board to get a rough budgetary price before I finished SI tuning.
Price was reasonable - $400 NRE $136/board @ qty 5, so $1080 plus shipping and whatever the current tariff rate on bare PCBs is.
But lead time was 4 weeks for manufacture if they have the necessary laminates in stock at the time I place the order. If not, three *months* lead time for getting the laminate.

Switch project continues to make progress, although at a slow pace.
Spent a couple hours at my friend's shop tooling up the PnP for populating the back side of the remaining line cards, but didn't have time to actually run the job.
25G SI tuning is going well, I'm carefully rerouting all four of the 25G pairs and doing a ton of simulations to make sure I absolutely nail it.
The rest of the transceiver lines are going to get a once-over but they're 5 Gbps so …
