Low Tide At Meyers Creek Beach (2019)
(Near Brookings, Southern Oregon)
Ps. I'd love to know what kind of mineral those red parts might be! 🙏
#TextureTuesday #NaturePhotography #Rocks

An exposed rock at the beach during low tide. Some parts of the rock are dark gray, others consisting of intensely red mineral with some white-greenish dotty overgrowth. Dark gray sands.

also at the entrance to that cave we found the other day, that one i tooted, round the corner from the shells, there is a big four pot marine engine. this is a close up of the area where the crank shaft goes through the crank case. the ring shape of the bronze bush is visible. the rest is extremely rusty, smoothed by the sea, and covered in barnacles. there is also a mystery copper wire sticking out of the rust with ragged green insulation.

its like an extremely rusty giant iron needle plunged almost eye deep into grey sedimentary coastal rock. gets covered in sea every now and then so there is stringy sea weed, mostly white, but some green.

Invisible Chasm (2026)
#TextureTuesday #LandscapePhotography #Photography #Abstract

View across a deep high alpine valley. Overgrown talus fields and meadows in the foreground, vertical rocky slopes on the other side of the valley in the background, small patches of trees and brush growing where possible. The valley itself is invisible and the horizon line of the foreground creates a visual rift.

teeth
#texturetuesday

a coastal sedimentary rock face that looks as though it has teeth. odd bits of green sea weed growing. green leaves on hanging tree branches at very top. great big pebbles and sand at bottom.

Decades Of Biopatina
Layers upon layers, signs/patterns of struggle, opportunism, reaction diffusion, on the walls of a 150 year old building complex in the mountains...
#TextureTuesday #NaturePhotography

Close up photo of layers of mould & fungi growing on an old white wall. Old layers of paint. Complex textures, patterns with rich saturated colors (oranges, browns).

The Geometry Of Mountains (2025)
#TextureTuesday #LandscapePhotography #Photography #Abstract

Abstract detail photo of three mountains and a huge cumulus cloud behind. Each mountain has a different color, slope and texture. The front one beige/brown grass. The mountain behind is steeper with grayish rocky cliffs and rusty brown grass. The mountain peak in the background is almost fully covered in snow, reflecting the blue sky.
