For #ThingThursday here’s a wooden folding ruler which belongs to my partner, but I love it and often make excuses to borrow it. I used to have a big metal ruler on my desk, but that always got in the way.

A color photo of said folding ruler looking at it from the top. It has markings in inches and centimeters and can open to a very impressive length of about 33.5 inches or 85 centimeters.
A color photo of said folding ruler from its side where you can see the steel joints. It has a very satisfying snap when folding or unfolding and is quite sturdy!

For #ThingThursday, here’s an animal figurine by Paraguayan ceramic artist #JuliaIsídrez. The chicken is a symbol for good luck and I keep it on my desk.

A photo of a hand holding a very small chicken figurine with a friendly demeanor. It’s painted white with black specks on its feathers, a yellow beak, and a red crown.

For #ThingThursday, here’s a #VanCort “Dragonfly” dioptric kaleidoscope made of dyed birch wood, glass, and brass from 1987, which belonged to my dad. It was made by a husband and wife business who specialized in making handcrafted, 18th and 19th century instruments from 1979 until 2003.
