For #ThursDeath this week, DWELLING BELOW released their sophomore LP 'Worrisome Guardians' earlier this year, and this record is a masterclass in great, slightly dissonant death.

#ThursDeath this week is the excellent new LP 'Necrotic Terror' by Chicago's SWINGING MACE (it's just one guy, Brian Higgins, who is also the guitarist for Gored Embrace). It's not on Bandcamp, but it's on YouTube and Qobuz, both links below.

Bonus #ThursDeath? Sure, why not, I have it #NowPlaying. It's the new single from Joensuu, Finland deathgrinders BLISTEROUS. It's nasty, it's the first track from their upcoming EP 'Grotesque Prosection', I dig it.

This week's #ThursDeath is DEATH TUNNEL, the members of which are natives from the nearby (to me) Salt River Reservation here in Arizona. Death Tunnel have been around since 2021, had an LP last year, and another this year, 'Predisposed to Decompose':

This week's #ThursDeath is EP 'Voidspawn Sacrifice' from last year by northern Italy's IGNOBLETH. This is death with dynamics, it has both faster and sloggy parts, and it also has some black metal touches (kinda war metal). And these guys are doing it well. The band members are super young, in their teens (16 and 17 as of last year), and already making amazing shit like this. Hope they k…

This week needs so much #ThursDeath, we're doing a twofer. These are two masterpieces of 90s death metal via Buffalo, New York's BAPHOMET, released just a year apart--
'Inheritors of the Dead' from 1991:

The cover of Baphomet's 1991 LP 'Inheritors of the Dead' with demon and logo and whatnot
The cover art for Baphomet's 1992 LP 'The Dead Shall Inherit' with ghouls crawling out of graves in the graveyard at night - gates and trees all around.

#ThursDeath for this week is the excellent debut EP 'Under the Mantle of Desolation' from Chile's blackened death-doom outfit MYST that came out a couple days ago.

Bonus #ThursDeath this week because the new STRANGULIATORIUS is fully up now to hear on Bandcamp. Stranguliatorius are from Vilnius, Lithuania. I'd heard some of their earlier stuff, which is okay, but their new LP here, 'Flies Don't Lie' is a MASTERPIECE of metal. There's barks and growls but also guttural vocals, dynamics, changes, really weird guitar - cool spots everywhere.
