A brutal, crushing #ThursDeath this week with debut LP 'Putrescence' by Toronto's COPROLITH. The riffs are relentless, the drums are pounding. The last song is the single, I listened to a ton of it before this came out, and it still strikes me how great it is every time I hear it. What an amazing record. Cavernous as fuck. Easily one of my favorite metal records this year so far.
#ThursDeath this week is this great DYING REMAINS record from last year, 'Merciless Suffering'. More great metal from Canada. Has a cool almost Skeletonwitch feel- the drums are unreal and relentless, great riffage and solos, these rad, rough growl-bark vocals, it's all here. Another Maggot Stomp gem. I always find myself coming back to it.
#ThursDeath this week is new LP 'Deracinated into Soiled Reliquaries' by one man Mammoth Lakes, California death/black metal project CABINET. This is a disgusting slab with churning, chugging, dripping, burbling, roaring, monk-like chanting, and piano melodies- and then back to face-smashing riffs. Muck and grime galore. If the gross, nasty riff in track 4 doesn't get you, nothing will. Has …

#ThursDeath this week is awesome new LP 'Flesh of Chaos' by death/thrash (mostly death) outfit CYCLOPIC. Cyclopic only has a couple members, they hail from a mix of Kazakhstan, Russia, and Germany. This is a cool record - maybe Obituary vibes, and I feel like I also some Morbid Angel or other OSDM stuff. And how about that cover art. 🔥

#ThursDeath this week is one I'm surprised I haven't done yet, Portland, Oregon's TORTURE RACK and their masterpiece of a record from 2023, 'Primeval Onslaught'.

#ThursDeath this week is new EP 'The Witch King' from Cleveland's PROCESSION. This is some quality death doom, some of the best I've heard in a while. From a slow, crushing pace to galloping drums- these guys really know how to do it. Awesome debut.
Time I do a #ThursDeath for the new LP 'Hostile Consuming Rapture' by Kyiv's SECTARIAN DEFACEMENT. This is such a wild record- made in Ukraine during the war. It's weird, jagged, unpleasant, and downright crushing. Plus, yknow, there's dripping and bells. It has it all.
#ThursDeath this week is one man project GATEWAY from Bruges. This is some heavy, crushing shit from Belgium. What an LP this is. This is 'Galgendood' from 2023.
