The chatter in my TL suggests that we are inching closer to the point where “Trump killed Epstein” becomes a thinkable thought in the mainstream, scrawled on toilet stalls and dumpsters across the USA as a routine rallying cry.

A family member of mine made a joke about trans people and I shut it down so fast I think they are still reeling a day later.
I got extremely serious, and loud, and told them it was bullshit, and I don't want to hear that sort of garbage again.
They tried to defend it with "Oh, it's just us, we're cool" and I called bullshit on that too.
We talked about it later and I think I got my point across. I ended with "We know you're a good person, so …

Who knows whether somebody actually •did• have Epstein murdered, Trump or otherwise. It’s likely we’ll never have either a smoking gun or a definitive rebuttal.
And that may not matter — I’m talking about •vibes•, about the Overton Window of conspiracy theories, about just how many people are so sick Epstein and Trump and all these people that they don’t need any more evidence to want all their legacies flushed down history’s toilet.
