For #TuneTuesday, we're doing #FirstComeFirstPlayed - the first song that pops into your head. This one has been floating around in there since yesterday, though, until just now, it'd been a long time since I'd heard it.
Lambchop, "The Old Gold Shoe" (2000)

#TuneTuesday (Aug 26)
To me Toad the Wet Sprocket is one of those cool 1990s alternative rock bands and know them for their major hits like “All I Want” and “Fall Down”.
It was only in the last few years that I got to listen to some of their non-singles and “Windmills” from their 1994 album Dulcinea is one that really stood out to me with its laid-back melancholic vibe.

#TuneTuesday (Jul 22)
I first heard of #WalkTheMoon’s 2014 song “Aquaman” only last year and it instantly shot to the top of my favorite songs from the band alongside tunes like “Shut Up and Dance”, “Surrender”, and “I’m Good”.
The song’s laid-back and chill vibe is reminiscent of 80s mu…

#TuneTuesday this week is #PaletteMusic and the first one that came to mind for me was Beck's 'Colors'. I loved this song and the album of same name from 2018 had some other killer ones on it, too ("Dreams").

I first learned of New York–based duo #FlyByMidnight in 2023 and I found myself really enjoying their music. And if you’re curious, their song “Borrow Your Time” is an example of the style of melodic synth-pop that is just a pleasure to listen to.

#TuneTuesday (Aug 12)
First released in 1997, “Snow on the Sahara” was the song that catapulted Indonesian artist #Anggun to the international stage and it’s not hard to see why. The song’s worldly appeal with new-age and tribal motifs still makes it a jam to this day.

My take on this week’s #TuneTuesday #180degrees is a song that lulls you into a false sense of security for the first quarter with soft vocals and gently tinkling guitars, before it all abruptly kicks off.
The song is Soma by the

The song “Restart” was never released as one of #SamSmith’s singles and was only included as a bonus track in his 2014 debut album. And this baffles me because “Restart” easily became one of my favorite Sam Smith songs almost from the first time I heard it.

Today's #TuneTuesday theme is #LondonCalling - songs that name-drop a town or city in the title or lyrics.
This has long been a favorite, a song from an alt-country legend about Townes Van Zandt, the composer of some of the finest US songs of the 20th century. It mentions a whole series of cities.…
