“And even though all is lost
I’m lost with you” 🎵
The Strike is an American indie band I first heard of a more than a year ago and I immediately loved their sound! Their song “The Getaway” in particular is a very uplifting song that wouldn’t feel out of place in a road trip playlist. 😎 (The “Stripped” version of the song is also lovely if you want something…
#TuneTuesday theme is "Memorable line", making it the easiest #tunetuesday ever!

Today's #TuneTuesday is #PedalPowerSongs, tunes about bikes. This is dangerous territory, involving two of my favorite things. I'll try to control myself.
Among other things, this tune is about the city wanting to kill those of us who aren't travelling by car.

#Lizzo’s “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” is such a bop and I can’t help liking its infectious energy! It certainly gives me 80s vibes because of the use of synths and especially with the key change for the final chorus. 🎧
This is the first song that popped into my head for this week's #TuneTuesday theme: #VerdantVoices, songs tied to green or nature.
Another rose wilts in East Harlem
And uptown downtown
A thousand miles between us

Sound is the color I know,

I’m embarrassed to admit that it was only recently that I learned of British singer #OliviaDean. And I instantly loved the first song of hers I heard, “Man I Need”; it gives an old-school 80s/90s vibe and is just a pleasure to listen to. 🎵
I'll go with the band name for #TuneTuesday; this week's theme is #ImplodeOrExplode. I'd also like the the things the band wants.
This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, "This is What I Want" (2002)
This week's #TuneTuesday theme is #KingsQueensJacksJokers, and for it, this classic by the boys from Beantown. Forever one of my favorite Aerosmith tunes.
Kings and queens and guillotines indeed
#TuneTuesday (Nov 18)
“Problems” is the first song I heard from the American band Arizona and I took an instant liking to it. And for a song about mental health, it surprisingly sounds cheerful and upbeat. But I guess a bit of positivity can sometimes help when you’re feeling down. 🤗
P.S. I subsequently learned that keyboardist David Labuguen is Filipino-American and I thought that w…

#Madonna has produced a lot of music in over four decades—some good and some not my cup of tea. Among the good ones, “I’ll Remember”, from the soundtrack of the 1994 film With Honors, is definitely in my S tier of Madonna songs.
Can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding
They Might Be Giants, "Your Racist Friend" (1990)

One of several songs blending bliss and a refusal to go quietly that come to mind when thinking of today's #TuneTuesday theme, #PulsarTwin - music related to soul mates, romantic or otherwise.
Têtes Raides, "Ginette" (1997, live 2001)
#TuneTuesday (Nov 4)
This week I’m choosing “Want You Back”, the lead single from #Haim’s 2017 album Something to Tell You. Aside from being a really good pop song, I’m fascinated with the one-shot music video featuring a deserted Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. (Granted, the filming was quite earl…
Today's #TuneTuesday theme is #RipAndTear, music that gives vent to our inner tempest. A little old-school hardcore does the trick for me.
Leatherface, "This Land" (1989)
#TuneTuesday (Dec 2)
One of my favorite EDM producers is #Chicane and one song of his that gives me nostalgia is “Love on the Run” from 2003.

#TuneTuesday this week asks for #AnimalCalls, songs with animal sounds or about animals. I'll go literal. This tune - the first off the first album by the best ever Québec trad group (on se bat-tu ?) - features a loon right off the top.
