So Labour's down only four points from the general election, from 49% down to 45%.
The Green's have tripped their vote from like 10% to like a third.
Massive swing towards green, but not enough to take the seat. Needs another 1500 people to change their mind.
Obviously all the media will say this means Burnham is winning and Zack has to go. I hope not. He's doing great.
No way to really find out how it would have been different if the Zionism motion had gone the other way.

Lots of media saying that it's a huge gamble for Zack to try and win Starmer's seat.
As though they think if he loses the media will all call for him to resign. 😆 They're doing that either way, duh.
A bigger gamble would be to put forward a lesser candidate and lower the chances of winning.

Less than a year ago Starmer argued that a mayor couldn't stand down early because of the cost to the party and the country of running an election.
Today we learn he is gonna quit being an MP.
I' not quite in the seat, but I'm close enough I could go campaign I suppose.

This is a pretty good seat for Zack Polanski himself to sand in actually.
Would be great to get him into parliament, beat Labour in London, boost the party and Zack's own voice.

What? Really?
..arresting hundreds of people for planning to read poems in a terrorising manor, saying "Good Morning" to some protestors in a terroristic way, setting up a terror stage for terror music to be played on, clapping terroristicly, and holding up terror signs.
Some might say it's the state and police forces doing the terrorising here but of course don't say it in public or you'll be arrested and thrown in jail for terrorism.

If Burnham were to walk the walk as well as he talks the talk tody then the country might be in for a less bad time than I'd imagined.
Pressure from the left appears to be working. People vote Green, Greens take London councils, threaten central London seats, make a Labour party wipe-out look inevitable as they lose votes left and right to Greens and Reform.
So a change of course, in the words at least. No longer promising nothing but unrelenting misery, no longer afraid to promise to actually do something.
And that seems to be exciting his members.
Here's hoping he can be forced to follow though and also pull it off.
Best way to force that is to continue the pressure from the left and Greens of course. A Green win in Holborn next month is the best hope for that. Coz he still isn't doing enough, on the environment and all those other things.

Reckons that first things first, he's going to end rough-sleeping. Apparently something they tell me he achieved in Manchester.
Corbyn's big first day announcement if he won was going to be that he would end homelessness immediately.
Which can only really mean putting the homeless into hostels and hotels.
But good. Certainly that's an about-fucking-time sort of announcement.
If he ends people having to sleep on the streets in the first week then I can only approve of that.

Owen Jones has gone down and interviewed some randoms. Only seems to have found one sane one.
Not a great deal of hope for Binface fans here though I'm afraid.
His supporters are so cynical about politics they don't care, they're all like "all politicians are doing it" which isn't true at all but they doesn't get through to people
That sense of cynicism and pessimism saturates this country
